Overnight trek to Harishchandragad via Tolarkind on 16th – 17th Jan 2016 

Harishchandragad is one of the best high forts near Mumbai, Maharashtra. Strong fortifications of this fort has more than 3 routes, such as Junnar gate route, Sadhle ghat, Nalichi wat and Indore wat.

About
The carvings on the temples of Nageshwar (in Khireshwar village), in the Harishchandreshwar temple and in the cave of Kedareshwar indicate that the fort belongs to the medieval period, since it is related to Shaiva, Shakta or Naath. Later the fort was under the control of Moguls. The Marathas captured it in 1747. Main attractions on Fort: Saptatirtha Pushkarni, Kedareshwar Cave, Konkan Kada (Konkan cliff), Taramati peak, Temple of Harishchandreshwar.

Day 1 (16 Jan. 2015)
08:00 Sharp Meeting at Kalyan S.T. Depot (which is at Kalyan (w) opp. Kalyan Rly. Station
11:00 Reach Khubi Phata
12:00 Reach Khireshwar (base Village)
Start Trek at 05:00 pm Reach at Harishchandragad fort (meal in route)
6:00 pm at amazing Konkankada
7:30 – 8:00 back to Harishchandragad Caves
9:00 Dinner & Camp fire, Good bye Day

Day 2 (17 Jan. 2015)
06:00 Good Morning
07:00 Visit Taramati peak & back to temple.
09:30 Start descending Harishchandragad
13:00 Lunch in the village.
15:00 Reach Khubi Phata & proceed towards Kalyan.
20:00 Disperse at Kalyan ST bus depot (subjective)

Note: The cost of the event would be Rs. 1500.00 (discount Rs. 200.00 for Members)

Inclusion: The above cost includes travel from Kalyan to Kalyan travel, 1 Veg Lunch, 1 veg dinner and 1 Morning Breakfast & Mumbai Outdoors charges if any.
Exclusion: Emergency medical evacuations if any required, Insurance or any other item/event not mentioned in the inclusion list.

1. Snugly fitting canvas shoes / Sports shoes, Sewing kit, spare shoes laces
2. Rucksack / Shoulder bag which can hold following items
3. Pack your stuff with an extra polythene lining to protect the contents from rain.
4. Water Bottle (3lts minimum) compulsory, Sun Cap, Spare Cotton Track pant & T- shirt.
5. Personal medical kit (personal medicines if any, prescribed by family doctor).
6. Personal bedding, sleeping Bag / 2 bed sheets & carry mat, safety pins.
7. Torch with spare set of batteries, Light weight towel. plate, tumbler, tea mug/ cup, spoon.

1. Smoking and drinking alcohol is strictly prohibited.
2. Trek leader’s decision will be final and binding.
3. Mumbai Outdoors reserves all the right to change/deviate/cancel the event without prior notice.
4. Sleeveless, low neck, figure hugging shirts/skirts/tops, short pants, hot pants not allowed.
5. Please avoid wearing gold and other jewellery (at own risk). Please do not carry handbags or Jolas or Sling bags on treks.

Disclosures on medical conditions
It is mandatory that you visit your personal physician before enrolling for the trip if you suffer from any illness of any kind and disclose the same and your medical history to the organizers of the trip so that best possible arrangements can be carried out post approval. As organizers of the trip, we will be responsible for providing basic first aid throughout the trip. In case of unexpected mishaps or accidents, we will arrange for the injured patron to be taken to the nearest medical hospital wherever possible. The medical expenses will have to be borne by the patrons themselves. The cost mentioned above is for Indian citizens ONLY payable in Indian Rupees.
