Trek to Lohagad and Bhaje Caves on Sunday 3rd July 2016 with Mumbai Outdoors






Dear Friends,
We are glad to invite you for trek to Lohagad and Bhaje Caves on Sunday 3rd July 2016.

Lohagad is part of the Western Ghats. It rises to an elevation of 1,033 m (3,389 ft) above sea level, and is located to the southwest of the larger Visapur fort. The range divides the basins of the Indrayani and Pavana rivers.
Lohagad overlooks the Pavana reservoir, located to the south of the mountain. The hill extends to the northwest to a fortified spur, called Vinchukata (Scorpion's tail)
because of its resembling shape. The four large gates of Lohagad are still in good condition and reasonably intact.



Trek Itinerary:

We will be leaving by Indrayani  express

Train Timings :-

CST – 5:40 am
Dadar – 5.51 am
Thane – 6.14 am
Kalyan – 6.35 am
Lonavla – 8.00 am
 .


Move forward to Malavali by local train
Pune people : 
Catch Pune Lonavala Local Train

Timings are as follows:
Pune Station: 06:27 Hrs
Shivaji Nagar : 06:33 Hrs
Malavali Station: 07:40 Hrs




08:25 am: Move to Bhaje village
08:45 am: @ Bhaje Village
Breakfast – Tea Time
09:30 am: Start Ascend
11:45 am: Atop Lohagad Fort
12 noon : Exploration, Lunch, rest etc
02:00 pm: Descend
05.00 pm: @ Malavali Station

From there to Lonavla / Pune by local
Take train / bus to Mumbai.
We would be returning to Mumbai by 9.00 pm. 



Expenses:
Rs 500/- per head which includes travelling from Lonavala to Lonavala , breakfast,Lunch and evening tea.

Trek to Kothaligad(Peth Fort) on Sunday 26th June 2016 with Mumbai Outdoors



 
Dear Friends,
We are glad to invite you for a trek to Kothaligad (Peth Fort) on Sunday 26th June 2016.



Info- Kothaligad (also called Kotligad or Kothligad) is a small Fort (1500ft.) is situated to the east of Karjat . It is one of the famous treks in the Karjat area, because of its small height and easy climbing. It is also known as the Fort of Peth because of its vicinity to Peth village at its base.
There is a small Bhairoba temple and large cave at the base and a chimney like tunnel  to the top of the fort. This pinnacle is carved from inside forming a staircase reaching the top.
There is a tank of water at some distance from the cave and another one at the top of the fort. This tunnel is the high point of the trek, with its funnel like structure and steps along the inside in a steep ascent to the very top.

08:44 am :Towards Base village
10:00 am : Reach the Base 
10:15 am : Introduction, do's and don’ts, breakfast
10:30 am : Start Ascent
12.00 pm : Reach the top and explore
01:00 pm : Start Descent
02:00 pm : Lunch @ base
04:00 pm : Departure to Mumbai
07:00 pm : Reach Mumbai


Expenses: Rs 600/- per head.Which includes
Travelling from Karjat to Karjat  by private vehicle
Breakfast, lunch and evening tea.

Here is a list of all the things that we need to carry:
1. A haversack to put in all the things to be carried. So that one has hands free while trekking.
2. A bottle of water (1.5 ltr).
3. Camera (Optional), Avoid wearing Gold and other jewelry.
4. Electoral / Energy powder, 2 Lemon, some snacks & biscuits (optional).
5. Torch with extra batteries.
6. Personal medicines
7. A good trekking shoes.
